New York City - the Big Apple - is the center of New York State for many sectors of the economy — finance, fashion, and food are all on the cutting edge in this bustling city. (And what goes better with great food than great wine?) Many people are surprised to learn, however, that New York State’s two leading industries are agriculture and tourism. Two of the high-value products that garner much attention for New York agriculture are our grape and wine production, and some of the main tourism attractions in the State are the wineries and vineyards. We would like to encourage all New Yorkers to become more familiar with these important pieces that make up part of the diverse quilt of New York, and to introduce visitors from around the world to the products available.

Wines from New York are served at some of the top restaurants in New York City, and will enhance any special occasion you may be planning. But don't forget that a quiet dinner with family can sometimes be the most important occasion of all!

The New York wine industry is working with retailers and restaurateurs in the New York City area to make it easier for you to find New York wines on their shelves and wine lists. Please feel free to let your favorite wine shop or restaurant know that if there is a New York wine that they are not carrying, they may contact us for more information.
New York Wine:
Red, White and True Blue

New York City is one of the most diverse cities in the world.

New York's wine regions produce the greatest diversity of wine from any one wine region in the world.

But we are all united in our support for those who have been touched by recent events.

Great New York wines can be found at some of New York's best restaurants. We had a special program scheduled for New York City for October 2001— New York Cuisine— and we were pleased to learn that even after the tragic events of September 11, many of the restaurants that were able to be open kept the program alive. New York Cuisine is the combination of three magic pieces— great New York food products and New York wines brought together by the great chefs of New York. In some restaurants the program has continued on past the end of October in a tribute to the City and the State.

We also invite everyone who is able to help the many families of restaurant employees affected by the September 11 tragedy by contributing to the New York Restaurant Employee Disaster Fund. Checks may be made payable to NYRED Fund and sent to:
